Marcella Lopez, MPH, MBA
I've worked in the healthcare industry for over fifteen years. For seven of those years, I served in progressive leadership roles at a Medicaid/Medicare managed care health plan. In these roles, I wrote and edited program plans, regulatory reports, policies, newsletter articles, business proposals, executive summaries, annual reports, health promotion materials, and more. Prior to that, I worked in public health research, where I worked on academic research studies, writing and editing related documents. I have also worked in disability and occupational health examination services where I reviewed medical reports for quality assurance.
Strong written communication, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines have always been essential parts of my career, and I would say contributed to much of my success. As an editor, I provide a final set of eyes to make sure documents have appropriate spelling, grammar, formatting, word usage, and consistency.
I earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, with a specialization in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from UC San Diego Rady School of Management.
I am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), the Professional Editors Network (PEN), the San Diego Professional Editors Network (SD/PEN), and the American Public Health Association (APHA).
I love to help people produce their best work and bring information together. In my free time, I love to read, run, practice yoga, and spend time with friends and family.
