Marcella Lopez, MPH, MBA

I've worked in the healthcare industry for fifteen years. For seven of those years, I served in progressive leadership roles at a Medicaid/Medicare managed care health plan. In these roles, I wrote and edited program plans, regulatory reports, policies, newsletter articles, business proposals, executive summaries, annual reports, health promotion materials, and more. Prior to that, I worked in public health research, where I worked on academic research studies, writing and editing related documents. I have also worked in disability and occupational health examination services, and mental health.

Strong written communication, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines have always been essential parts of my career, and I would say contributed to much of my success. As an editor, I provide a final set of eyes to make sure documents have appropriate spelling, grammar, formatting, word usage, and consistency.

I earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, with a specialization in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from UC San Diego Rady School of Management.

I am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), the San Diego Professional Editors Network (SD/PEN), and the American Public Health Association (APHA).

I love to help people produce their best work and bring information together. In my free time, I love to read, run, practice yoga, and spend time with friends and family.
