ABOUT ME

Marcella Lopez, MPH, MBA

I’m all about doing great work and helping my clients in their writing journey.

I provide nonfiction copyediting and proofreading services for healthcare, business, memoir, and academic topics. I also do authenticity (aka sensitivity) reading for fiction and nonfiction documents from a Latina perspective; this includes screenplays, novels, musicals, and company blogs.

Strong written communication, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines have always been essential parts of my career, and I would say contributed to much of my success. As an editor, I provide a final set of eyes to make sure documents are clear and cohesive. I provide detailed suggestions on clarity, tone, spelling, grammar, formatting, word usage, and consistency.

I earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, with a specialization in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, from San Diego State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from UC San Diego Rady School of Management.

I also serve as co-coordinator of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) Diversity Initiative Welcome Program, which pairs welcomers with newcomers from traditionally marginalized and historically underrepresented backgrounds to help them navigate the EFA offerings and community.
